Reflective Statement

Technology grows every day, and children in grade school now are growing up in an age where technology is all around them every day of their life. Many teachers today do not consider themselves prepared to use technology in their classroom. They don’t see the technologies for all that they are and all they can do for their classrooms (Koehler & Mishra, 2009.). The “Come to the Edge” project is an excellent way for teacher candidates to become more familiar with tools that they can use in the future as teachers in and out of their  classrooms. From my exploration of these tools I have learned that technology can be very useful in the classroom but there are also tools that are are too difficult to navigate, crash or are not efficient to use. While exploring different tools for this project, the tools I found most useful were the ones that could be used with ease by teachers, students and even parents. They also allow for more in-depth use beyond the tool itself.
