Google for Education

Before taking the Google for Education Certification I was generally familiar with Google and the application that they offer. The Google for Education Certification fundamental training modules were extensive but gave a great, in-depth overview of each G Suite application. The modules gave the opportunity to see how real teachers have used the applications in their own class, either for themselves as an educator or for the whole class.

The Google for Education Certification training and exam have given me the skills and knowledge I will need to incorporate technology, organization, and exploration into my future class and even into the rest of my college education. I have learned that teachers can use google further than just a general google search. I learned that the search bar doubles as a calculator, teachers can use Google Docs to have students create their own learning resources to move past textbooks. I learned that organization for teachers desks and students desks can be managed by using Google Classroom and Google Docs by assigning assignments, papers and projects through Classroom; as well as grading assignments and providing feedback through the application. Teachers can create a Google Site that provides parents, students and colleagues with information, links, and videos related to a topic or event all in one place that can be ascetically pleasing. One of the most important things that I think Google provides through all of its applications in G Suite and G Suite for Education is its collaboration opportunities that it allows. No matter which application is being used, they all allow for collaboration with others. This makes sharing documents, group projects, meetings, making appointments and collecting data simple, organized and efficient.

Google for Education is a great tool for classrooms. It is easy to learn and effective for learning in the classroom. Children need integration of technology in the classroom. they want to create, investigate and discover; Google allows this in a way that benefits the classroom in a number of ways. I highly recommend teachers to take the google for Education certification or even just go through the free fundamental training modules. You will learn a lot from them and get to know all that Google has to offer, especially to teachers.
